I just did a 2-week trip behind me, "The trip was awesome, really fantastic, unforgettable! But I'm now not about to write a trip report (it or something like that comes then maybe, maybe not). No, I want to something completely different out: The trip was
basically what is commonly meant by "travel" very archaic: a permanent one-way, sit tight. We never thought it would be longer than 2 days from the same place, most of the stays were shorter. We traveled thousands of kilometers and that by land, air and even water 3 times, we boarded the plane (Basel-Berlin, Simferopol-Istanbul, Istanbul-Basel), 3 times we moved on the rail (Berlin-Warsaw, Warsaw-Kiev, Kiev-Odessa), 3 times the coach was our means of transportation (Odessa-Simferopol, Sevastopol and Simferopol-Sevastopol-Yalta). In particular, the Crimean peninsula, we explored to a large part also by taxi (total 600 km!), And 2 times we went even above water (harbor tours in Sevastopol and Istanbul). were used as overnight accommodations are backpackers but no hotels have names like Marriott or Hilton wore, but we spent the night not long ago in the worst descending to offer the former Eastern bloc has (and that would be truly a few), but mostly okay middle-class houses sometimes those with old Soviet charm. If anything, the scorching heat to ruin the appetite, we left it to us on this trip and go culinary well, and that's not cheap in the restaurants, but sometimes even in one or other gourmet temple (of the culinary treasures of Istanbul I will at this point to begin not even rave about, but could also be partly dug after them). Last but not least, the night life! Where we were, it was above average, frequented by us, and we each consumed not only cheap vodka, but also exorbitantly expensive whiskey (and not always just for us alone). We went to clubs with names such as "Ibiza" (Arkadia Beach, Odessa wore) and inferior to the same clubbing Mecca in anything, especially not in regard to the size of the local entry or drink prices! And what we finally gave money on nonsense! For example, 160 € for the entry pass to the legendary techno bash Kazantip, a passport which would actually authorize access for 3 weeks (we were only there 1 night!). Or the police bribe had we (our offense: consumption of a beer in the course) or the cheaters-booking agent in Istanbul, to name only a few of the more harmless absurdities ... In summary, we have experienced a lot and made our trip and has - Who's surprised? - Cost money.
"How much money there really a whole?" I asked myself at the end of the trip and was armed with calculators, internet bank statements and a few receipts, quickly Milchbüechli a statement. The result: about CHF 2'800 .-. This is not much, I think, especially in view of the above listed activities! Fri 2'800 .- (for my companions it would be a similarly low amount), we have spared himself nota bene ... And that brings me to the political message (which needs it so finally on smythestyle, even if the blog long rusty ...): This
Number - 2,800 Francs - keeping in mind I was quite amazed when I read in a newspaper this week, how much travel expenses to a certain Andreas Gross (SP National, GSoA-founder, Club Helvétique member, democracy-exporter, gooder, do-gooders, containing the full program) in 2008, skims: There were taxpayer-funded travel expenses of CHF 175,000 .- (in words: Einhundertfünfundsiebzigtausend francs). Again, we have agreed at the above-described travel within 16 days 2,800 .- Fri spent it here and let us really go well. Extrapolated to 175,000 .- Fri charges of Comrade Gross would again point exactly 1,000 days Passport ! Mean This year, however, known to only 365 days, and Andi was 2008 - I suspect - not every day abroad, but pulled the trigger and sometimes the (rear) bank in the Parliament building ...
